Sharon, VT Hotels Weather Map/Direction | 25-May-2008 (Sunday) Edit/Update this event Vermont Thunder XVI (# 3587)Well, there we go, Vt Thunder XV is done! For the 350 or so bikers, the day started out cloudy, and gradually progressed to wet with some torrential downpours. I think we lost about 25% of the bikes after the first gas stop in Richmond, the rest of us continued the remaining 60 miles to Enosburg. Thankfully there were no mishaps and everyone arrived safely. I am amazed at the number of riders that came from all over New England, knowing that the weather would probably be bad. The ceremony in E-Burg was touching as the commander of the Legion read the roll of Vermont's military personnel killed or still missing. As many times as I have heard taps, it never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Many thanks to everyone who braved the weather, and especially to the hard chargers who continued to the end. Although there weren't as many people on the roads to greet us, as in the past the ones that were there seemed fired up when we went through their respective towns. Well, that's it for now, check the site in the coming week for pix from the day. It's time to start planning for Vt-Thunder 2008!! Remember, check the site occasionally throughout the year as there will be some exciting news in the months to come. Once again, thanks for everyone's support. Respectfully, The Crew.vt-thunder.org |
