Arkansas isn't just known for its extreme weather, being the birthplace of the 42ndPresident of the United States, Bill Clinton, its University athletic clubs known as theRazorbacks, or its role in eventually ending segregation in our nation's schools involvingthe Little Rock Nine. It's also home to some of the most courteous people in the country,some of the greatest southern cooking you'll ever find, and what's been billed asthe 'Largest Charity Biker Rally' in the United States.

Known as the Bikes Blues and BBQ Motorcycle Rally, this charity event takes placeevery year beginning with a ride into the city of Fayetteville, AK through the scenicOzark Mountains, and has raised well in excess of $500,000 for local charities from thehundreds of thousands in attendance each year.

Since its inception and humble beginnings as just another great poker run in 2000, theBikes Blues and BBQ Biker Event has grown to be one of the largest motorcycle ralliesin the nation alongside such renowned biker events as Sturgis and the Daytona BikeWeek.

This is no surprise when you consider the incredible vistas provided for riders in the greatcountryside outside Fayetteville, the wonderful times to be had inside and outside thetown, and the scrumptious eats served up by welcoming locals to be feasted upon insidethe city limits.

As you motor up and down Dickson Street in downtown Fayetteville during thefestivities, there is no limit to the fabulous little bars and restaurants you can have a goodtime or wonderful meal at. You'll be joined by hundreds of thousands of other bikers ofall kinds, scooter trash, cruisers, weekend warriors, and biker royalty; all enjoying thefun-filled atmosphere.

Vendors galore set up shop in the various parking lots surrounding the area, and thereprobably isn't anything you couldn't find at one of them. If you want to get some goodink, there are plenty of places to go for that. If you want a t-shirt to commemorate yourstay at the event, you won't have to look far.

Yet, it's not the vendors or even the restaurants and bars that are the main draw to theincredible gala known as the Bikes Blues and BBQ Biker Rally, which takes place thiscoming September. No, as the name implies, the biggestreason most people mark this event on their calendar and are sure not to miss it, is thebikes you'll see, the great music you'll listen to, and the barbeque you'll enjoy at theKCBS Barbeque Cook-Off and the Arkansas State BBQ Championship.

You'll see wonderful designer bikes loaded with chrome, as well as motorcycles of allkinds just owned by those attending, at the motorcycle shows that take place during thefour-day event, in the motorcycle parade that is a mainstay of the happening, simply ondisplay on Dickson Street and around town, and while you're cruising the highways onthe many poker runs organized for everyone's pleasure.

There'll be plenty of partying to live tunes at the Bikes Blues and BBQ Motorcycle Rallythroughout the week as well, with lots of local talent on display at the many venues,as well as such popular bands like Blackfoot, The Marshall Tucker Band, and MollyHatchett; all of whom have performed at the event in the past.

Since the University of Arkansas is right there in Fayetteville, you can be assured it'llreach the level of a full-on frat-party raucousness at some point before the week is out;with plenty of hot babes baring their all, and everyone having a slamming good-time,with the smoky aroma of barbequed chicken, ribs, pork, and beef brisket beginning tomake your mouth water beginning Friday morning.

The event itself extends all the way from Fort Smith to Rogers, and over to EurekaSprings, from the Randal Tyson Track Center south of the city all the way up to theNorthwest Arkansas Mall. At that venue you'll also find the Bikes Blues and Hot Rodsevent that made its debut in 2009.

So, if you're looking for one of the best times you'll have this year, don't forget to markthis event down, pack up your saddlebags around the end of September, and head to theOzarks for the Annual Bikes Blues and BBQ Charity Biker Event.
