When: in prime fall leaf seasonWhere: Near Harrisville, NY, gorgeous rugged country at the top of New York StateWhy: Oh seriously? Why not?!! PLUS, we're having the Black River Stages rally race there that weekend! So, we're already planning for the race, which last year was 20 rally cars and 30 rally bikes. That part of the event has been going on for years now. But we figured, "Hey, why not spread the fun around?" so we're adding a "traditional ADV biker rally" to the "rally racing rally". Oh boy, I can see that the descriptions are going to get twisted! So, what does your $80 get you? Here we go:* We've put together a discount lodging deal at a local campground: Adirondack Thousand Islands Campground in Natural Bridge, NY. Our deal is as long as we get 50 folks showing up, everyone gets 25% off the campsite fees.* Event T shirt!* Event sticker!* Cool wristband that not only lets you know who the other cool people are!* Two day access to the pits!* Two day access to the spectator areas!* Spectator guide!* Admittance to the awards ceremony for the rally on Sunday night! Last year was some grilled chicken that was awesome.* A self guided dual-sport ride that uses a rally-style scroll chart so you can see some interesting roads in the area. Plus the chance to get a taste of Dakar-style navigation. (Don't worry, on roads, this is totally easy. In huge sand dunes in the middle of Africa, not so much. )* Another dinner , this one on Saturday, which will be right in the pit area, so you can see the race bikes and cars working on their gear! We're thinking something simple, burgers/dogs.The Adirondack Thousand Islands Campground has set aside the top part for us and there's LOTS of room for tenting; obviously, they have camper stations with full hook-ups too. They've got showers, a camp store... even a POOL!Sound like a hoot? It does to me!!
