Kevin Clarke Memorial Motorcycle Run to benefit The Heart of A Marine Foundation, is Sunday September 13th. Kevin, who grew up in Tinley Park, was at the end of his second deployment, and it was just one month after his 21st birthday, when he was killed in a firefight, by small arms fire in western Al-Anbar province Iraq, February 19th, 2005. The run is to honor Kevin and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Registration starts at 7:00AM, at the Tinley Park American Legion Post 615. Kickstands up at 10:30AM sharp. The run will go to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for a ceremony, then return to Post 615 for food, entertainment, raffles and a silent auction. Registration fees are $15 for riders, $10 for passengers. Cars are gladly welcomed. There will be an optional pancake breakfast from 7-10AM hosted by the American Legion Riders for a $5.00 fee. The first 50 registered riders will receive a free pancake breakfast. Anyone who cannot attend, yet wishes to make a donation to The Heart of A Marine Foundation can send a check to: Heart of A Marine Foundation, PO Box 1732, Elk Grove Village IL, 60007. The Heart of A Marine Foundation provides comfort, support, financial assistance, and educational resources to improve the quality of life of military personnel and veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces, veterans, and their families.
