Daytona Bike Week Daytona...That one word is literally synonymous with having fun of all kinds. Say the word Daytona to a scooter jockey, though, and he or she will immediately tellyou that word means Bike Week.

Officially known as Daytona Beach Bike Week and also referred to as simply DaytonaBike Week, it is one of the largest motorcycle rallies and events in the nation, competingeach year with the historic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota for the unofficialtitle of America's Premier Biker Rally.

Those of you who attended the 10-day event in 2010 know its attractions, and with just a few days left until the70th Annual 2011 Daytona Beach Bike Week, I'm sure you've already made all yourplans to attend this year's rally.

After all, how could you not, considering all the fun you had last year?

For those who haven't yet made reservations, you better get on the ball and get it ingear, for in less than two months more than 500,000 people will be heading east on I-4toward Daytona Beach, Florida to enjoy the Daytona Beach Bike Week Motorcycle Rallyfestivities, and you wouldn't want to be left out, would you?

As with all great biker rallies, there are, of course, great races and rides. Enjoying TheLoop, as it's called, is one of the greatest rides you'll ever experience, through someof the best countryside in the world. It will definitely give you a deep appreciation forFlorida's natural beauty.

The races on the hard-packed white sand of Daytona Beach aren't to be missed either. Asold as the rally itself, the races are one of the biggest attractions of the event. However, they're far from the only one.

There are hundreds of biker hangouts throughout the surrounding areas, as well asfamous biker bars like the Iron Horse Saloon, Dirty Harry's, the No Name Saloon in Edgewater, and the Boot Hill Saloon.

Rumbling up to one of them on their scooter, heading inside, and throwing down a JackDaniel's in the authentic atmosphere during the sunshine-filled 10-day Daytona BikeWeek Rally is something any true biker has to experience. Just don't be surprised if youget some dirty looks if you're a "weekend warrior" when it comes to bikes; althoughthat's as far as it will likely ever go.

The welcome you'll receive at Destination Daytona is one that will be warm andpleasant, whatever kind of biker you are. Touted as the best biker destination on earth, with the largest Harley-Davidson dealership in the world, Destination Daytona is thebrainchild of local HD dealer Bruce Rossmeyer, who, along with J and P Cycles andArlen Ness, has built what can only be termed a "motorcycle world".

Hundreds of vendors, camping sites, restaurants, and entertainment venues make it nearlyas amazing a venue as Disney World, which is only a couple of hours away in Orlando,by the way.

The areas around Daytona Beach itself are to be enjoyed as well, and the official DaytonaBeach Bike Rally coordinators have scheduled an array of exciting and wonderful eventsto satisfy everyone who comes, including bike shows, bike giveaways, vendors galore, and more.

When it's all said and done, the simple fact is Bike Week is not to be missed. It's theoldest biker rally in America (yes, one year older than Sturgis), and while Sturgis hassome of the greatest countryside in the world, there ain't nothing hotter than the sitesyou'll see as you motor through Daytona.

After all, while the Beach Boys said they wished all women could be California Girls, Ihave a feeling they never really got a good look at the smoking hot babes in bikinis at theDaytona Beach Bike Week Motorcycle Rally. Make sure you get an eyeful. Book yourreservations today and cruise on down this March.
