East Village Bike Night to Honor Michele DavisSlain woman was motorcycle enthusiast DES MOINES – Historic East Village, Inc. (HEV) will honor the memory of slain motorcycle enthusiast Michele Davis during its 4th Annual East Village Bike Night Friday, Sept. 26. Davis was killed Sept. 11, 2008, when her vehicle crashed on I-235. Further investigation revealed Davis' death was a homicide due to a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Her estranged husband, Randy L. Davis, has since been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Davis was an active motorcycle enthusiast and member of ABATE of Iowa, a nonprofit motorcycle education and advocacy group. “Michele's death was a tragedy and we felt the need to do something to honor her memory during this event knowing she would have enjoyed it,” said Sarah Oltrogge, HEV president.A limited quantity of memorial ribbons will be given away during the event. Motorcyclists are encouraged to wear the ribbons which may be picked up at the Historic East Village booth. There will also be a memorial tribute to Davis between bands.
