New American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) chapter covering six counties Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Rockland and Putnam. In 2006 a few moms who lost their teens to suicide got together to reach out to help others learn about the warning signs, its causes and most of all prevention. They started a grassroots suicide awareness walk Here Comes the Sun at a local high school. Their conception has now evolved into bringing a chapter of AFSP to our area.Our new chapter is having a spring fundraiser in Orange County NY 2009 Here Comes the Sun Bike RunMay 30th, 2009 Gail's Place -150 Rt 17K, Newburgh, NY.
