Since 1978, the WBCA Jalapeño Festival Sponsored by Stripes has grown from a small downtown fiesta to a massive event attracting some of the best musical acts in the country, as well as some of the sturdiest stomachs around. While the La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest remains a huge attraction for festival goers, it's the live music that packs the house. This year, Friday night IS Biker Night! For all you bikers and biker babes, and anyone else looking for a good time, we've got a raucous night planned for you. Friday features the Jalapeño Bike Rally and Run, spicy food, live entertainment and $2 beer all night! Bike rally attendees will enjoy the music from Austin's premiere Southern Rock band Ma Ferguson and local rockers Quinn and Wildroot. To get things started, there will be a Ride through the Streets of Laredo ending at the festival grounds.Adding some spice to the Jalapeño Bike Rally, are Emcee and DJ Rodney and Little Bill who are looking for a few good men and women willing to let loose and get down and dirty with the Weenie Bite and Jalapeño Biker Babe contests! Or, test your mad skills on wheels with the slow bike race. And that's not all...the Friday Biker Night features the scheduled appearances of “Sons of Anarchy” actors Kim Coates (Alex “Tig” Trager) and Emilio Rivera (Marcus Alvarez) from the hit FX television series! Coates and Rivera will be on-site signing autographs and taking pictures, and both will lead the Jalapeño Bike Ride throughout the streets of Laredo. Where else can you ride with two of TV's hottest stars and end up at the hottest night in Texas!Saturday's Tejano Night will be no different with four time Grammy award winning sensation LaMafia headlining the Festival. Also taking center stage on Tejano Night are the Grammy award winning talents of Costumbre and Elida Reyna y Avante. Laredo's own rising star Ilyssa is slated to open up the show.
