Katelynn Stinnett National Memorial Ride (# 10491)

13-Jun-2009 (Saturday)

On December 3, 2008, 2-year old Katelynn Stinnett died of injuries she suffered when she was sexually abused and beaten. Thousands of bikers across the nation grieved for the loss of this baby girl. They took up a collection and paid for her burial and her headstone which is inscribed with a poem written especially for her, by a biker. We vowed not to forget Katelynn and the thousands of children who suffer from child abuse every year. Consequently, we decided to hold a nationwide event each year in honor of Katelynn, and to raise money to help local child abuse prevention agencies. Each state is conducting their own ride, but all rides will occur on the same day. We want to not only raise local awareness of the problem of child abuse, we want to raise national awareness of it. We want to make sure that even the smallest voices, those of the children, are heard. The issue of child abuse needs to be addressed loudly, and what better way to do this than with the thunder of our bikes! Please join us on 6/13/09 as we honor little Katelynn Stinnett and ride to raise money for The Tupelo Childrens Mansion! http://www.tcmm.org for more info.
