One starts at Carolina Harley-Davidson in Gastonia, NC, One at Blue Ridge Harley-Davidson in Hickory, NC, One at Tilley's Harley-Davidson in Statesville and Tilley's Harley-Davidson in Salsibury, NC with the runs wrapping up at Easy Eddies in Huntersville, NC at 4:00 followed by The Contagious Blues Band, 50/50 drawing. On December 3, 2008, Katelynn Stinnett died from injuries suffered from a brutal attack that included being raped and beaten. Katelynn was two years old. Her murderer was a friend of the family, who was also her babysitter on that fateful day. The first annual Katelynn Stinnett Memorial Ride was held on June 19, 2009. Its purpose was to pay for Katelynn's funeral expenses and headstone. The original coordinators of the ride heard the outcry from all over the United States over the abuse that took Katelynn's life and opened the ride to include all 50 states, making the Katelynn Stinnett Memorial Ride an annual and national event. This year is North Carolina's first year as a participant and we are proud to be a part of this memorable occasion that has now become a means to promote awareness and prevention of child abuse. All proceeds from the North Carolina Ride will be donated to local charities working together to bring awareness to and prevention of child abuse. We are confident that with the help of fellow riders and other concerned citizens, we too can make a difference. So please, join us for the ride of a child's life!
