The ride through the Red Rocks will raise funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona. Funds will go toward the granting of wishes to children between 2-1/2 and 18 who suffer from life-threatening medical conditions. The founders of Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Frank and Kitty Shankwitz, will lead the way. Registration is at Bucky's Casino at 9 a.m. The last riders will head out at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17. Breakfast will be served. The poker run will leave Prescott, wind through the Red Rocks of Sedona, up to the historic mining town of Jerome, across Mingus Mountain into Prescott, then up the mountain to Bucky's Casino at the Prescott Resort, approximately 135 miles. There will be check-in points along the way where the riders will receive a bead; at the end of the run Bucky's will exchange the beads for cards. High hand and low hand will receive cash prizes. Return to live music, specialty booths, and a BBQ where everyone receives an entry form for extraordinary door prizes. This year make plans to stay and play.
