Millions of people travel to Washington D.C. every year to visit it, honor it and otherwise stand in awe of it. For four days this month, Milwaukeeans will have the opportunity to experience it without leaving the city. Starting September 24, Milwaukee Harley-Davidson (MHD) will play host to The Moving Wall, the 252-foot replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial that has been traveling the country for the past 25 years. A ceremonial event entitled A Tribute to the Fallen is planned for September 26 at 11:30 a.m. and will feature a series of speakers, including Gary Wetzel, a local Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. An organized ride from the War Memorial to the dealership will kick off the day's events, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The exhibit will be in town for four days. The Moving Wall will be open for public viewing 24 hours a day beginning at 12pm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 - 8am on Monday, September 28, 2009. A memorial ride and ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 to honor the fallen. 9:00am - Ride staging begins at the War Memorial 10:30am - Ride departs the War Memorial to Milwaukee Harley-Davidson 11:30am - Memorial Ceremony begins - Speakers - Tribute to the fallen - Public Viewing On Sunday, September 27, 2009 we will honor the mothers of all military personnel and veterans, including the Gold Star Mothers. 10:30am - Prayer Service 11:00am - Tribute to the fallen - Mothers' flower procession 11:30am - Mothers Brunch
