301 South Thompson Sioux Falls, SD Ryan Budahl 605-770-9141 Hotels Weather Map/Direction | 21-Jun-2008 (Saturday) Edit/Update this event Ride For Life Poker Run (# 8528)Ride For Life is a memorial poker run in honor of Matt DeYong, an amazing young man who lost his battle with metastatic osteosarcoma, a childhood bone cancer, on February 1st, 2008. He fought it bravely for 22 months and was an inspiration to those around him. 100% of the proceeds raised during the poker run will be donated to \"Cure Kids Cancer\" of Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. The ride is approximately 125 miles and open to anything with wheels that can travel safely down the road! There will be trophies for best car and best bike, prizes for best hands, raffles and/or prize drawings. There will be a bbq at the end of the ride with prize presentations. Matt was an avid rider in many area poker runs, helping to raise funds for several charities. We hope that this event, in his name, will generate serious funds for a very worthy cause. Cure Kids Cancer is a nonprofit organization focused on helping children's cancer centers find life-saving treatments and eventually cures for children’s cancers by raising funds and awareness. |
