Westfield River Valley Det. 141 Marine Corps League will be sponsoring our 2nd Toys for Tots / Marines helping Marines toy run. Last years ride drew 200 bikers on our first ever sponsored ride. Assemble: Alexander's Restaurant North Westfield St.( rte 187) Feeding Hills, Ma ( suburb of Agawam) 8:30 am registration Sponsors and Pre-registration: Joel Nelson 413-454-4240 Aldo Mancini 413-204-5711 Lou Johnson 860-977-9130 ( Lou's only son was a Marine killed in action Iraq for which there is a different memorial ride) Westfield River Valley Marine Corps league Detachment 141 Headquarters 413-562-4850 Donations: 1 new unwrapped toy and $10 per person ALL money collected goes to the Wounded Warrior Project at Brooke Army Hospital, Balboa Hospital ( San Diego), Walter Reed Army Hospital,Bethesda Naval Hospital, Camp LeJuene and Camp Pendleton. Ride departs at approx. 10am for a scenic 90 mile ride going through Southwick, Westfield,Huntington,Worthington,Chesterfield, through the V.A.Medical Center, Leeds,Ma.,to the Holyoke Soldiers Home then back to the Westfield Fair Grounds for food. Ride open to all and anyone who wants to ride not just Marines. 304th Trans. company Army National Gaurd provided the truck last year to haul the toys, let's fill it this year. Last years distinguished guests included a 88 year old female Full bird Colonel, a female Army Major, and a 84 year old machine gunner who witnessed BOTH flag risings on Iwo Jima.
