Gerbings Heated Motorcycle Gloves T5 Review (# 9) |
||||||||||||
Point Of View:I want to start by saying that after trying the Gerbings Heated Motorcycle Gloves, I feel pretty stupid for quietly suffering all these years riding in cold weather with freezing fingers.Comfort and quality:
Ignoring the heating functionality, the Gerbings T5 are very well made motorcycle gloves.The gloves are constructed out of high quality leather covering about 70%, and Kevlar covering a part of the gloves top. The T5 gloves are Gauntlet style with raised ridges protecting the finger knuckles. A few nice touches like the addition of abrasion resistant rubber stitched to the palm to reduce glove wear, or the adjustable wrist fastener and an adjustable glove top-sleeve (similar to what you'll find on a ski glove) make the Gerbings Motorcycle Gloves very comfortable, durable, and perfect for motorcycle riding. Heating: The best way to describe how well these heated motorcycle gloves work is: think about how it feels when your hands are cold and you put them in a warm water bath. You get that warm feeling that fully surounds your hands...this is exactly how these gloves feel. Gerbings did such a great job constructing these gloves. First, there is no traditional "heating element", Gerbings Microwire technology is practically woven into the glove. Second, there are no "hot spots", the hand is heated evenly from around the wrist all the way to the finger tips. Installation:
Hooking up the heated gloves to your motorcycle can not be simpler:
That's it, now connect the gloves to the ends of the jacket cable and you are all set. Pros:
Cons:
Conclusion:Now after trying these Gerbings T5 Heated Motorcycle Gloves, I can't imagine riding without them. Not only the T5 Gloves are doing a great job in heating my hands, they are very comfertable, and I can use them as my daily riding gloves. There are no uncomfortable heating elements and on warm days, I simply don't plug them in and you can use them in warm weather.I would recommend to everyone to at least go to your local motorcycle shop and try them on...you will not want to take them off.
