Liberty Sport Chopper Polarized Riding Sunglasses Review (# 8)
Point Of View:When I was contacted by Liberty Sport representative asking if I'd like to review their motorcycle riding sunglasses, I was a little skeptical. I am riding motorcycles my whole life, the better part of it with open face helmet (or no helmet), which means that good and comfortable (not to mention cool looking) eye protection is crucial for me.
After riding with the Chopper sunglasses a few times, I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. Liberty Sport paid a lot of attention to details, all the way from the quality of the lens, the quality of the frame, a magnetic pouch for the magnetic caps, and a well-designed strap for the sunglasses.
Generally the Chopper Polarized riding sunglasses are very comfortable. The light frame with a combination of the soft nose-bridge makes for a very comfortable fit on the face. It usualy takes me a little while to get use to new glasses ,but with these, I forgot that I have them on about 30 seconds after I put them on.
The Liberry Chopper lens are polarized black polycarbonate lens, they do a good job blocking the sun light during the day, and are light enough to ride with at night.
Magnetic Side Wind Blockers :
This is the coolest part of the sunglasses, on the outer side of each lens-frame there are magnetic extensions that block wind and debris from flying into your eye.
These extensions look and fit very snugly into the sunglasses. They are very easy to attach and detached, all you have to do is pull them off, and then put them close to the area and they are snapped to place by the magnets.
The side caps can be attached right before riding, and detached while walking around town (I actually like to keep them on all the time)
Since I got the Liberty Chopper Polarized sunglasses for review a few weeks ago, I used them for about 7 - 8 days while riding my chopper and I can say with confidence that they are doing exactly what Liberty Sport promised they will do. They are comfortable, they stay on your face at any speed, they block the sunlight, and block most of the wind (enough to make for a comfortable ride). I road with an open face helmet using the Chopper Polarized at city speed and at highway speeds of up to about 90mph and the glasses did just fine.
Conclusion:The Liberty Sport Chopper Polarized Sunglasses were fun but a little difficult to review. As in every review, I was trying to point some good things and some bad things about the sunglasses...but I really can't think of anything bad. The sunglasses are well made, they have good lens and cool magnetic side-wind blockers, they do what you would expect from a motorcycle riding sunglasses, and at around $150 the price is just right.
