i-KAM XTREME Video Sunglasses Review (# 5) |
||||||||||||||
Fact:The I-Kam video sunglasses have 2 main componants, the sunglasses lens, and the video camera and controls.
The sunglasses frame is coated with a thin protective robber layer. There are 2 led pin-hole indicator lights under the video contol buttons that indicate the status of the video camera. Point Of View:As I was opening the package and took the sunglasses out, I was surprized at the quality. I was expecting a flimzy cheap gimmikey glasses, but the I-Kam seem to be pretty well made, the frame itself is covered with a thin protective coating which gives it a ruged look and feel.Same goes for the lens, I was expecting a $2 dely style lens but these are not bad, they definatly do the trick as far as sun protection for your eyes. There are some problem with the lens, they seem to get scratched easely, I droped the glasses ones and the left side lens got 3 scratches on it. Also when looking at direct sunlight, there seem to be a haze which makes things look like they are under a light fog. As far as the video, the camera and mic are located at the center of the frame between the lens which makes it easy to frame the shot. Basicaly, what ever you are looking at is what being taped. The video quality is very decent for a none HD camera, I shot few videos indoors and some outdoors, the outdoors video with good sunlight came out very nice. These sunglasses will be great at a motorcycle event where you want to capture some of the happaning without holding a video camera all day. Pros:
Cons:
Conclusion:i-KAM XTREME Video Sunglasses are good at what they set out to do, nice sunglasses and good quality, easy to use video camera. The glasses are well made with ruged frame and extra sets of lens. And for a price of a little over a hunderd dollars these are a good deal.Ratings:
