submited by Lee on Nov-2010
This year the International Motorcycle Show took place on 19/21-Nov-2010 at the event center in San Mateo, California. And as in every prior year, it was a fun event to attend, lots of cool bikes and interesting motorcycle products and accessories vendors to shop at.
However, the thing that is immediately noticeable is the fact that this motorcycle show is getting smaller and smaller every year. When I attended this International Motorcycle Show back in 2007, there were hundreds of motorcycle vendors and bikes on display, spread over 5 of the buildings that are available at the San Mateo event center. Fast forward to 2010, there were still quite a few vendors and motorcycles, but they only occupied 2 of the buildings (there were actually 3 buildings but the third one was like a ghost town so I'm not even counting it).
I actually had a chance to talk to some of the vendors at the motorcycle show and what some of them are saying is, that the fees for getting a boot in the International Motorcycle Show went up significantly and that is why there are not as many motorcycle vendors as in prior years (this is yet to be confirmed with the organizers of the show).
Having said that, the International Motorcycle Show is still a good motorcycle event to visit. This year a lot of people borough their whole family including young kids. It seems like the kids were having a blast seating on all the different motorcycles on display.
All in all I did have fun at the show and I will come back next year.
